About

While most people may not find it very fascinated, I am currently working in the payroll/HR industry designing new software solutions to better automate tax withholding. This daily focus on payroll has created a good amount of interest with the political and social ramifications which you will see me write about here and there. Really though, this site is more of a reflection of my own work outside my career in payroll/HR.

On occasion, I am a screenwriter who has written the web series Lunch Break as well as the feature film High Low. My most successful projects came while working with my former production company Tipping Forties, where along with the previously mentioned projects we produced over 600 episodes of Let's Plays, Streams, and Podcasts.

In 2012, Tipping Forties LLC disbanded and the members went on to do other projects. Currently, I am on hiatus from my screenwriting and focusing on my career building better Payroll/HR products.

For an idea of what the goals of this website are, please review my first post to the site which is provided below:

Salutations. My name is Michael Nierstedt and this is where you can find all of my musings (rants) as well as information about any of my past and current projects. The purpose of this site is mainly to perform shameful, pandering self-branding. However, it's also important that all the content that I provide is unique in some fashion, either with my perspective or subject matter. If you want to look at re-posts thats what Gawker or Huffington Post are for, not this site.

So my plan is to post around five times a week regarding anything I feel I want to talk about. This could be my personal projects, but it also could mean entertainment, politics, media, sports. Again whatever is on my mind that day that is unique in some way will be a possibility.

Thanks for checking out the new site and I will begin posting tomorrow.
